I’ve been busy again. I have been stitching like crazy to try and get on top of orders from shops, all of whom seem to have run out of stuff at once. I am rethinking my bricks and mortar stockists game plan as a result.
On the other hand though, I have taken a wee bit of time for myself, though it’s been hard to fit in. I have…
Snagged a table for Lee’s birthday lunch (a week early cos I’ll be in London on the day, I know, I’m a terrible wife) at the trial run of Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant in Glasgow, Jamie’s Italian.
Discovered that our flat is next to the site of an old slaughterhouse and not far from an ex-lunatic asylum thanks to this really cool map from 1912.
Been utterly glued to Scouting NY, a website by a location scout in New York, featuring all sorts of cool abandoned and forgotten buildings. I had to go back through and read every post over the space of about a week as I was completely fascinated by the whole thing.
Been reminded that it is almost 2 years since I returned from Thailand for good! Time really has flown and so much has happened. If you have no idea what I am talking about, I kept a separate blog about my time living there which you can read here.
Time for bed now, my brain is exhausted.
I’m Claire and I live near Glasgow, in Scotland. I have strong family ties to Cincinnati, too and regard it as my second home. If I had to describe myself in five words, it would be thus: Does. Not. Suffer. Fools. Gladly.
I’ve been cross stitching pretty much all my life, but professionally since 2005, first as Miso Funky, then as The Bellwether and now under my own name. I'm known for my witty, sarcastic and occasionally profane typographic designs. My work has been featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Channel 4 and on BBC television as well as numerous media outlets across the globe. At one point, I was kind of a big deal but I mostly just dabble in it these days when I have time.
My website is a repositry of cross stitch charts, travel and food blogging and you'll find it at www.antibullshitleague.com.
I also love to travel and eat, ideally travelling somewhere great to eat something brilliant. I'm fascinated by social history, particularly the Victorians and will absolutely beat you hands down in a quiz about the Tudors. Dogs are LIFE.
I like being in water and have lots of ideas that will never see the light of day but would definitely be a winner on Dragon’s Den/Shark Tank. I love to give people gifts. I! also! overuse! exclamation! marks! sorry!

Two years??!! I may have only followed the Thai escapades online but surely it can’t be *that* long ago? Arrrrggghh, time is running away from me!
